Esta investigación se sitúa en el Buenos Aires del siglo XVIII y pretende analizar episodios violentos y crueles acaecidos en tal tiempo. En la mayoría de estos sucesos aparece la mujer como principal víctima, pero la figura masculina emerge también como figura damnificada en interesantes expedientes, a manos de mujeres. La sociedad porteña del Setecientos vivió, como otras muchas a nivel europeo y americano, la lacra social de la violencia de género. Pero ésta no solo se ve en el ámbito familiar, pues numerosos episodios describen tratos agresivos ejercidos mediante abusos de poder por quienes se creían con el derecho de imponer sus deseos. Esta aportación refleja una realidad social de excesos cometidos durante la Colonia, en su gran mayoría contra mujeres, y que no es un fenómeno exclusivamente contemporáneo.

This research is in the Buenos Aires of the eighteenth century to analyze violent and cruel episodes occurred in that time. In most women these events appears as the main victim, but the male figure also emerges as contained in interesting records injured at the hands of women. Buenos Aires society of the eighteenth century lived, like many other European and American level, the social scourge of gender violence. But it is not only in the family, as numerous episodes described aggressive treatment exercised by abuses of power by who believed with the right to impose their wishes. This contribution reflects the social reality of excesses committed during colonial times, mostly against women, and that is not an exclusively modern phenomenon.
