Las tecnologías en la actualidad juegan un papel muy importante en el desarrollo productivo de una organización, localidad o nación. Si no hay un saber hacer, término práctico para definir la tecnología, es muy difícil que la generación y comercialización de productos y servicios sea efectiva. Por estas razones es que se les presta especial atención al desarrollo tecnológico.
En la provincia más occidental de Cuba, Pinar del Río, se trabaja sistemáticamente por perfeccionar las tecnologías asociadas a la producción de alimentos y en las que tienen que ver con la generación, distribución y consumo de electricidad.

The technologies at the present time play a very important paper in the productive development of an organization, town or nation. If there is not a knowledge to make, practical term to define the technology, is very difficult that the generation and commercialization of products and services are effective. For these reasons it is that they are paid special attention to the technological development. In the most western county in Cuba, Pinar del Río, one works systematically to perfect the technologies associated to the production of foods and in those that have to do with the generation, distribution and electricity consumption.
