  • Growing human embryos in the lab beyond the seventh day after fertilization--the moment when embryos normally implant in the wall of the uterus--has been along-standing challenge for biologists, but the latest research is allowing people to extend past that. Here, Wong says people should relax rules that stop research on human embryos at 14 days as there is much more they can learn.
