    • A new firm Is investing $100 million to develop a gadget that can be implanted in the brain to enhance memory and intelligence, and is being advised by some of the biggest names in science. The company, Kernel, was launched earlier this year by entrepreneur Bryan Johnson. Its first experiments are on memory. Johnson is working with Theodore Berger at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, who is looking at the hippocampus, a key brain region for memory
