Herramientas de mediación didáctica en entornos virtuales: Las webqests

    El valor educativo de Internet depende, en buena medida, de la capacidad del profesorado para desarrollar estrategias eficientes y sencillas que incorporen de manera natural el potencial de la Red en los diseños curriculares de las diferentes materias y niveles del sistema educativo. En el presente artículo analizaré uno de los protocolos didácticos más prometedores y extendidos: Las webquest. Desde una filosofía claramente constructivista, se pretende la implicación del alumnado en tareas de construcción activa del conocimiento basadas en la búsqueda de información, en el análisis en profundidad de las fuentes, en la reflexión crítica sobre los contenidos y, no pocas veces, en el debate activo ente varios interlocutores.

    To a great extent, the educational value of the Internet depends on the ability of educators to develop simple and efficient strategies to incorporate the potential of the Web into the design of their curricula in a natural and intuitive manner. This article analyses the one of the most promising and far-reaching didactic protocols: WebQuests. From a purely constructionist philosophy, the use of Webquests aims to implicate students in actively building and enriching their knowledge base through Web-assisted research. Students are encouraged to perform comprehensive analyses of their information sources, be critical in their examination of the contents, and more often than not, actively debate their findings and conclusions.
