Anxiety disorders--including generalized anxiety, panic attacks, social anxiety and phobias-- are the most prevalent mental health problem in the US and Europe, and a growing number of reports from other regions suggest they could be a global concern. In the West, they cost healthcare systems more than $40 billion each year.
