  • Resumen
    • Turn key contract for robotic casting technology signed.

Vesuvius Steel Flow Control - the company's division that works with products handling the flow of molten metal during the steelmaking process - and Brazil's ThyssenKrupp CSA have signed a turn key contract for the installation of Robotic Casting Technology (RCT) provided by Vesuvius at the latter's facility, outside Rio de Janeiro.

The system, to be installed on both slab caster ladle platforms, will improve automation of the process and safety for the operators, who would not need to be exposed to the melting process and could be reassigned to remote supervision at a distance from the machinery.

The equipment, Vesuvius' ladle tube changer, will connect ladle and tundish and ensure that the casting process does not undergo any stoppages while the material is moved between stages, as it mounts on on-board ladle shroud
