• In recent times, the subject of dark matter has engaged the public thanks to reports in popular scientific journals and newspapers. In a first course in physics, we frequently encounter questions regarding reasons for belief in dark matter. Related questions regarding the composition and density of dark matter are also raised. In this article, we address the issue of the density distribution of dark matter.
