A crucial battle is being fought in South Africa this week over rhino horn. With the 181 member states of the Conference on International Trade in Endangered Species assembling in Johannesburg, Swaziland is leading the charge. To fund costly anti-poaching measures, Swaziland wants to sell 330 kg of stockpiled horn plus 20 kg a year, mainly taken humanely from farm-kept rhino. It has support from a handful of neighboring nations, including South Africa.
