Queensland-based Metro Mining will bring its Bauxite Hills mine online in April this year after the end of the regional wet-weather season, with the first sales expected to be made in May.The Australian miner is in the process of commissioning Bauxite Hills into one single operation after it acquired the Skardon River bauxite project, previously owned by Gulf Alumina, and joined it to its own adjacent bauxite project.According to the terms of the deal, Metro will supply 500,000 tonnes in 2018, and increase the consignment volumes to 1 million tonnes in 2019, adding a further 1 million tonnes in both 2020 and 2021.
