  • The 24,000-30,000 tpy capacity mine will return to the market following a year of modifications, Michael Greenfield reports.Thailand’s SC Mining is preparing to bring into operation an additional 12,000-24,000 tpy of capacity for fluorspar production within the next six months, which could provide some relief to a market facing a supply shortage. Similar to Masan’s Nui Phao operation in Vietnam, the Pae open-pit mine is predominantly mined for tungsten.Some market participants thought that SC Mining was either bringing a new site online or had two brownfield sites to be developed for fluorspar production, but Kijbamrung confirmed that his company owns only one site in Chiang Mai.
