    This paper suggests an interpretation of the Kantian theory of I-thoughts and of self-knowledge. Kant may have admitted Hume’s theory of the elusiveness of the Self, but he has not endorsed a ‘‘ no-owner theory ’’. He has argued in favor of the apriority of the « I think ». We scrutinize how that conception can be applied to some ordinary I-thoughts, but we also stress upon its difficulties.

    Cet article propose une interprétation de l’ensemble des textes consacrés par Kant à la pensée en première personne. Nous montrons que si Kant semble avoir admis, à la suite de Hume, que l’usage du « je » n’était pas guidé par une intuition interne du sujet lui-même, il n’en a pas conclu que le « je » n’était qu’une fiction grammaticale et il a proposé d’accorder au « jepense »un statut a priori, comparable, quoique non identique, à celui qu’il a accordé aux catégories. Nous mettons en lumière les difficultés d’une telle position.
