    • The article discusses weakening of ecosystems from stocking lakes and rivers with game fish which is good for anglers. Topics discussed include help in rebuilding of threatened native species from fish stocking such as brook trout in Great Smoky Mountains National Park and lake trout in the Great Lakes, views of herpetologist Vance T. Vredenburg, on California golden trout, and removing river barriers as a priority for recovering former habitat and native species.
