Resumen de TiZir kiln shutdown to reduce titanium slag production
Europe’s only titanium slag production facility has reported a technical failure which could slow production for a period of six to eight weeks.
Titanium slag production at TiZir’s Titanium & Iron ilmenite upgrading facility (TTI) facility in Norway will be “significantly reduced” due to the shutdown of its pre-reduction kiln.
The kiln, which is used in the treatment of ilmenite before it is upgraded into titanium slag, could be taken offline because of a gearbox failure, TiZir said on February 27.
