  • Resumen
    • China's production of electric vehicles is booming, with subsidies to encourage more output, and lithium prices are rising on the increase in demand for batteries.

China’s output of new energy vehicles (NEVs) rose year-on-year in February to 39,230 units, including pure electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids, with the country still promoting development of the technology.

This was up by 119.1% from February last year, according to data released by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM).

The total production of NEVs included 28,872 units of pure electric vehicles (PEVs), and 10,358 plug-in hybrids. Those numbers were up by 89.4% and 288.4% year-on-year respectively.
