    It reflects critically about the methodology and instrument for safeguarding intangible cultural assets, developed by the National Historical and Artistic Heritage Institute (IPHAN): the National Inventory of Cultural References (INRC) and the Register of Cultural Goods of Intangible Nature. It aims to understand how these methodologies are structured and how they function, and to verify the correlations and mutual contributions between patrimony and Information Science (CI). Through documentary analysis of the manuals and technical documents of IPHAN, as well as the specialized literature of Information Science, it observes tensions, limitations and social dimensions of information representation for identification and registration of patrimonial information, verifying the contribution of CI to preserve cultural memory.

    Reflete criticamente sobre a metodologia e instrumento de salvaguarda para bens culturais intangíveis, desenvolvida pelo Instituto do Patrimônio Histórico e Artístico Nacional (IPHAN): o Inventário Nacional de Referências Culturais (INRC) e o Registro de Bens Culturais de Natureza Imaterial. Objetiva compreender de que maneira se estruturam e funcionam essas metodologias, e verificar as correlações e mútuas contribuições existentes entre patrimônio e Ciência da Informação (CI). Por meio de análise documental, dos manuais e documentos técnicos do IPHAN, bem como da literatura especializada da Ciência da Informação, observa tensões, limitações e dimensões sociais da representação da informação para identificação e registro da informação patrimonial, verificando a contribuição da CI para preservação da memória cultural.
