  We propose a reflection on new archival models that have been developing over the last decades.

  We believe that a discussion about a specific typology, that of archives related to art, design and architecture design, is necessary. Objectives: To discuss projects and experiences that illustrate issues related to the fact that the term archive expanded its use to include situations, places and collections of documents that, in their constitution, cannot be included in a more traditional definition of archive. We believe it is necessary to understand which typologies of archives are developing in the field of art. Methodology: We will try to identify the role of philosophical reflection in the expansion of the meaning of what we call archive. Actually, it seems to us that the term archive has been reaching an unimaginable semantic range up to a few decades ago. The use of the term archive includes innumerable "memories" which, if on one side it echoes something relative to the main idea of archive, on the other it describes something that extrapolates what traditionally belonged to it. We want, therefore, to investigate the mechanisms that led to this expansion of the term. The work is developed, initially, through the bibliographic retrieval of traditional archive definitions and their use. In this sense, we look forward to mark the essential elements that constitute its concept, the materials and practices as developed along history. In a second moment, we will develop a path in search of a synthesis of some characteristics of the contemporary art, in its material and conceptual transformations, establishing the relations with the needs of ordering its materials. Conclusions: Through the study of the case of CSAC - Centro Studi e Archivio della Comunicazione of the University of Parma - we will observe the possible modalities of formation and development of these archives that we call "hybrids", trying to understand their relations with art and its exhibition.

  Propomos, aqui, uma reflexão sobre novos modelos de arquivo que se desenvolveram ao longo das últimas décadas. Acreditamos ser necessária uma discussão sobre uma tipologia específica, a dos arquivos ligados à arte e ao projeto de design e arquitetura. Objetivos: Trata-se de discutir projetos e experiências que ilustram algumas questões que nos parecem relacionadas ao fato do termo arquivo ter expandido seu uso, para incluir situações, lugares e coleções de documentos que, em sua constituição, não podem ser inseridos nas definições tradicionais. Acreditamos ser necessário entender que tipologias de arquivos estão se desenvolvendo no campo da arte. Metodologia: Procuraremos identificar o papel desenvolvido pela reflexão filosófica na ampliação do sentido do que chamamos arquivo. Nos parece, com efeito, que o termo arquivo passe, hoje a abranger um leque semântico inimaginável até algumas décadas atrás. O uso do termo arquivo inclui inúmeras “memórias” que, se de um lado ecoam algo relativo à ideia principal de arquivo, por outro descreve algo que extrapola aquilo que, tradicionalmente, a ele pertencia.

  Queremos, assim, indagar os mecanismos que provocaram essa expansão do termo. O trabalho se desenvolve, em um primeiro momento, através da recuperação bibliográfica das definições de arquivo tradicional e seu uso. Nesse sentido, procura-se marcar os elementos essenciais que constituem seu conceito, os materiais e práticas como desenvolvidas no tempo. Em um segundo momento, desenvolveremos um percurso em busca de uma síntese de algumas características da arte contemporânea, em suas transformações materiais e conceituais, estabelecendo as relações com as necessidades de ordenar seus materiais. Conclusões: Observaremos, através do estudo do caso do CSAC – Centro Studi e Archivio della Comunicazione da Universidade de Parma - as possíveis modalidades de formação e desenvolvimento desses arquivos que chamamos “híbridos”, procurando entender suas relações com a arte e com sua exposição.
