    José María Ruiz Vargas y Juan Botella introducen este dossier revisando los modelos de atención de los últimos veinte años. Estos autores plantean críticamente las respuestas principales a los dos grandes temas de la psicología de la atención: el de la limitación del sistema de procesamiento -repasando los modelos de limitación estructural y de recursos y abordando la distinción entre procesamiento automático y controlado- y el del lugar y momento de la selección estimular a que esa limitación obliga, comentando las evidencias a favor de una selección temprana, tardía o múltiple. Los autores concluyen su trabajo con algunas precisiones en torno al concepto de atención y sin decantarse definitivamente por ninguna teoría.

    José María Ruiz Vargas and Juan Botella start their dossier checking on the last 20 years attention models. The authors critically propose the main answers to the two biggest issues of the psychology of attention: the processing system�s limitation -by means of reviewing the structural and resources model�s limitations and by tackling the distinction between automatic and controlled processing- and the place and moment of stimulus selection that is forced by the above mentioned limitation, commenting on evidences in favor of early, late or multiple selection. The authors finish their work with some specification about the attention concept but without clearly subscribing to any theory.
