Oraciones factitivas sintéticas y tipos de instrumentos en español

    Algunos estudios han destacado la existencia de verbos, a los que llaman factitivos, que se construyen con un agente meramente instigador de una acción causativa que realiza otro agente diferente. En nuestro trabajo ponemos de manifiesto cómo semejante descripción del funcionamiento de estos verbos es inadecuada, pues postula la concurrencia de dos papeles temáticos del mismo tipo en un mismo esquema oracional simple, y proponemos describir estas construcciones como esquemas oracionales causativos de agente no prototípico en los que concurre, además, un mecanismo de metaforización por el que un concepto meta agentivo se categoriza como un concepto fuente instrumental. Para describir exhaustivamente el funcionamiento de estas construcciones, establecemos, también, cómo resulta necesario diferenciar, dentro del papel temático de instrumento, entre los que denominamos instrumentos intermediarios de control permanente y de control momentáneo.

    Some studies have pointed out the existence of some causative verbs which are called factitives whose agent subjects merely trigger an action that is performed by a different agent. In our work we argue that this description of the behaviour of these verbs is inadequate, since it postulates the concurrence of two thematic relations of the same type in a single simple sentence scheme. Alternatively, we propose to describe factitive constructions as causative nonprototypical agent sentences in which there is also a mechanism of metaphorization by which an instrumental source concept is used to refer to an agent target concept. In order to provide a thorough description of these constructions, we propose to draw a distinction in the instrument role between what we call permanent control intermediary instruments and momentary control intermediary instruments.
