  • This article discusses a decision by U.S. President Barack Obama to allow the cultivation of new embryonic stem cell lines with funding from the U.S. federal government. This, along with the appointment of several scientists to positions of authority within the executive branch, is seen as a positive sign in the development of the Obama administration. The efforts of the U.S. to regain its place in the international community with regards to the prevention of global warming is also noted.
