  • The article reports the development of a hypodermic needle that is designed to automatically prevent itself from penetrating deeper into a patient's body than it should. The needle, designed by researchers at the Harvard Medical School, includes a mechanism which prevents the needle from proceeding deeper into a patient's body once it reaches a target cavity such as a blood vessel.
