    • The article focuses on the origin and evolution of ancient tongue, termed Proto-Indo-European (PIE). It refers to Archaeologist Marija Gimbutas' proposal of the tongue's Ukrainian origin, known as the kurgan hypothesis, in the 1950s. It refers to a series of studies that sequenced the DNA of human bones and other remains from many parts of Europe and Asia and suggests that about 75% of the existing human gene pool in Europe has been replaced by Yamnaya genes.
