  • The article discusses the factors that contribute to the increase in the number of pancreatic cancer patients worldwide as of April 2016. These factors include the advances in testing biopsied tissue and imaging systems that can detect tumors that once could not be seen and obesity and type 2 diabetes that increase cancer risk. However it notes, there is still no effective treatment for pancreatic cancer which rapidly metastasizes.
