It is known that the Chronicle elaborated by Pedro Lopez de Ayala possessed a clear propaganda objective of legitimization of the Trastámara dynasty, reason for which the chronicler resorted to multiple resources in order to support to the new dynasty enthroned in Castile. Though the most well-known resources of this intention are demonstrated in the description that the kings Pedro I and Enrique II’s chronicler carried out, other less evident situations exist to the first sight, as the utilization of the repression to the cities of Burgos and Toledo in the López de Ayala’s discourse, that seek to offer congruity to the general affirmation that sustains the whole chronicle: the change of dynasty “ was a God’s work “ and not the result of a political machinations that the bastard count realized from the first years of the government.
