    Por siglos la cultura nipona se disputó a sí misma entre la llegada de la modernidad y la conservación de las tradiciones. El periodo Meiji (1868 - 1912) se convirtió en un quiebre histórico, pues se permea de la tradición occidental imperialista al punto que existe un cambio cultural profundo desde su administración interna hasta la vestimenta de su aristocracia. La revolución industrial es un elemento clave para explicar esta paradoja y, así, también sus implicancias hasta la actualidad, donde el Japón sincretizado expresa la incorporación del colonialismo, la carrera por la tecnología y la formación política etnocéntrica. Se pone como hipótesis que la carrera occidental durante el siglo XIX tuvo consecuencias directas en la idiosincrasia y la cultura japonesa, y estas se reflejaron, tanto en las decisiones, como los caminos que el imperio del sol naciente tomaría durante el siglo XX.

    Among centuries, the Japanese culture struggled between the arrival of modernity and the preservation of traditions. The Meiji period (1868 - 1912) came into an historic breakout because it was permeated with the western imperialist tradition, as a result, everything from the internal administration to wears of the aristocracy changed. The industrial revolution is a clue element to explain this paradox and its significances until now, when the syncretized Japan expresses the colonialism system’s implementation, the technology race and the ethnocentric political conformation. Its concluded that the western race during the XIX century had direct consequences in the culture and the idiosyncrasy of Japan, and they were reflected both in the decisions as in the ways that the empire take in the XX century.
