Dialnet

Resumen de Origami from DNA.

Charles Q. Choi

  • The article reports that computer scientist Paul Rothemund from the California Institute of Technology has found that strands of DNA can be folded into complex flat structures. Using the DNA folding technology, Rothemund takes a long DNA and folds it several times like a piece of string to create any shape. Each fold is held in place by short DNAs. Because DNA spontaneously lines up with matching sequences, the shapes will assemble themselves if the molecules are sequenced properly.
