  • The article reports that researchers from Carnegie Mellon University used a wireless frequency analyzer in commercial flights in the U.S. to study interference of portable electronics with GPS navigation, which is used during landings. They found that on average, passengers made one to four cell phone calls per flight. In addition, they found that radiation from other sources such as DVD players, handheld games and laptop computers also interfered with navigation devices.
