Resumen de Representações simbólicas e arquetipologia: Análise crítica sobre as novas fronteiras de investigação na ciencia da informaçao

  Este estudo analisa quatro pesquisas fundamentadas nos princípios da Abordagem Clínica da Informação (ACI) objetivando efetuar uma reflexão acerca das contribuições e limitações percebidas até o momento nas práticas de investigação utilizadas nessa alternativa metodológica. Para tanto são apresentados um breve histórico dessa abordagem, uma descrição dos princípios que a orientam, as contribuições trazidas pelas pesquisas analisadas e as consequências que a utilização incauta de alguns de seus instrumentos pode produzir. As limitações dizem respeito, dentre outras, à confusão entre as noções de arquétipo e de representação simbólica que o Teste Arquetípico de Nove Elementos pode, involuntariamente, induzir o seu utilizador a cometer e à confusão que este instrumento faz entre as noções de símbolo e signo. As conclusões do estudo corroboraram o mérito da ACI e destacam que algumas variáveis devem ser observadas para garantir uma aplicação mais confiável e fiel das técnicas que utilizam o imaginário, o simbólico e o afetivo como instrumentos de pesquisa, sendo sugeridos recursos alternativos para contornar as dificuldades metodológicas identificadas. Pretende-se que as estratégias apontadas possam levar à descoberta de explicações ou soluções para os problemas informacionais e, utilizando-se ainda de um viés simbólico, incrementar ainda mais a relevância heurística desta perspectiva de investigação.

  This study analyzes four researches based on the principles of the Clinical Approach of Information (ICA, or, in Portuguese, ACI) aiming to make a reflection about the contributions and limitations perceived in the research practices used by this methodological alternative. We begin with a brief background description of this approach and its underlying principles, the contributions from the four studies, and the potential consequences of a somewhat careless use of certain instruments in some study subjects. The limitations included confusion between notions of archetype and symbolic representation that the Archetypal Test with Nine Elements (AT9) may involuntarily induce in users, and the confusion made by this instrument between the notions of symbol and sign. The study’s conclusions corroborate the merit of the ACI and emphasize that some variables must be observed to guarantee a more reliable and faithful application of imaginary, symbolic and affective techniques as research instruments. The study’s conclusions suggest, also, alternative resources to overcome the difficulties Identified. It is intended that the strategies pointed out may lead to the discovery of explanations or solutions to the informational problems and, still using a symbolic bias, further increase the heuristic relevance of this research perspective.
