  • The world's lakes are being hung out to dry. In December, Bolivia's second largest lake, Lake Poopo, became a salt pan, and its largest--Lake Titicaca--is heading towards trouble. Many lakes in other parts of the world also seem to be warming, shrinking and even disappearing as a consequence of unsustainable water use and climate change. This could affect water availability and the livelihoods of millions of people, as well as ecosystems
