  • The article profiles Chinese photographer Xing Danwen and provides a discussion of her photography as it relates to the Chinese avant-garde art world in the early 1990s. Confrontations with the police are mentioned, as is Xing's questioning by Chinese security agents. Several of her photographs are presented, including one of male doll heads, one of woman sitting on a couch in an apartment, and one of a nude male.
