  • The article discusses the work of the 30 artists in the exhibition "The Pictures Generation, 1974-1984" at the Metropolitan Museum of Art (the Met) in New York City. The movement's origins in classes taught by John Baldessari at the California Institute of the Arts and shows curated by Helene Winer in New York are discussed, and Met photography curator Douglas Eklund discusses assembling the 2009 exhibition.
