The article discusses the work of the Russian artist Ilya Kabakov. Noting that Kabakov is best known for his "total installations" and for his collaborations with his wife, Emilia, the author focuses on several exhibits of the artist's work, including "Utopia and Reality? El Lissitzky, Ilya and Emilia Kabakov" at the Van Abbemuseum in Eindhoven, The Netherlands and an exhibition of some of his paintings at Pace Gallery in New York City.
