Resumen de BERLIN'S BUSTED BLOCKS: Meditating on contemporary restorations of Berlin's ancient artifacts, the author frames anew the high-profile reconstruction of two museums badly damaged or destroyed during WWII.

Susan Tallman

  • The article reports on the exhibition "kulturGUTerhalten" at the National Museums of Berlin. The exhibition featured archeological finds which were both broken and restored as well as less mobile exhibits around the city including the Ishtar Gate and the Chinese Cave of the Ring-Bearing Doves. The exhibit also featured a show at the Altes Museum which categorized artifacts by stories about their physical lives and how they were produced.
