  • The author reflects on information released from an abbreviated and redacted version of the document "Committee Study of the CIA's Detention and Interrogation Program" from the U.S. Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, which reported on the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency's (CIA) failings and use of torture between 2001-2007. Citing the tone and content of the report, the author suggests that it is similar to a work from the American noir genre of film and literature.
