The article reports on the permanenet public art installation "See It Split, See It Change" by brothers Doug and Mike Starn, which opened in the South Ferry subway station in New York City in January 2009. The tree-themed installation was commissioned by the Arts for Transit program of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority.
