In this article, the author reflects upon the art scene of Cairo, Egypt. Particular focus is given to how the city has been impacted by the political revolution that took place in the country in 2011. Additional topics discussed include the Townhouse gallery in Cairo, the video "the eye struck me and the lord of the throne saved me," by the artist Hassan Khan, and the Gezira Art Center.
