The author discusses the art of Lynda Benglis. Benglis, he notes, attended the Brooklyn Museum Art School in 1946-1965 and by 1967 was known for her originality. The author encountered her work in 1969 and invited her to create a piece for the exhibition "Works for New Spaces" to open May 1971 at the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She did no drawings or preparation but simply poured viscous polyurethane that hardened onto heavy cardboard and named it "Adhesive Products."
