  • The article focuses on the evolution of art and infrastructure at biennial exhibitions. The article discusses the first biennial, the Venice Biennale in Venice, Italy in 1895, the exhibition "Magiciens de la Terre" at the Centre Pompidou in Paris, France in 1989 which was a critique of the Biennale de Paris and the first professional retreat for biennial curators at the Rockefeller Foundation's Bellagio Center in Italy. The article discusses the lack of international perspective at biennials.
