Resumen de A terapêutica da alma em Platão

The article presents as a principle of its foundation the possibility of understanding Plato's philosophy as knowing that he intends, above all, the formation and transformation of the very being of man, namely, his soul (psyché) through a therapeutic process applied on them. In this sense, it will be on the basis of the interpretive proposal found in the works of the french hellenist, Pierre Hadot, about ancient philosophy, that it will be inferred that in Plato there is a therapy of psyche, which is grounded and revealed in a necessarily triadic way: Self-care, self-knowledge and self-control, here termed "spiritual exercises," this triad, would characterize Platonic philosophy as a way of life, in other words, a proposal to be comprehensive that integrates theoría and práxis. Therefore we consider the existence of two clear objectives in philosophy as a therapy of psyché that are juxtaposed: to offer philosophical-spiritual formation to psyché and to prepare to bíos politiké (political life).

O artigo apresenta como princípio de sua fundamentação a possibilidade de compreender a filosofia de Platão como saber que intenciona, sobretudo, a formação e transformação do ser mesmo do homem, isto é, a alma (psyché) mediante um processo terapêutico aplicado sobre si. Neste sentido será a partir da proposta interpretativa encontrada nas obras do helenista francês, Pierre Hadot, sobre a filosofia antiga, que inferir-se-á que em Platão há uma terapêutica da psyché, a qual, se fundamenta e se revela de maneira necessariamente triádica: o cuidado de si, o conhecimento de si e o domínio sobre si, aqui denominados de “exercícios espirituais”, esta referida tríade, caracterizaria a filosofia platônica como um modo de vida, ou seja, uma proposta de ser abrangente que integre theoría e práxis. Por conseguinte, considera-se a existência de dois claros objetivos na filosofia como terapia da psyché que se justapõem: oferecer formação filosófico-espiritual à psyché e preparar ao bíos politiké (vida política).
