  • The article discusses the Pacific nation of Kiribati as a target of misplaced concerns about climate change. The author says that although the threat to Kiribati of rising sea levels is real, what the nation needs is not sudden and dramatic intervention in the form of seawalls, but rather a sustained program of adaptation and international aid targeted at specific needs in certain areas.
