Recientemente los eventos han captado interés en la literatura científica. Concretamente las investigaciones sobre festivales de artes escénicas son muy escasas y más aún sobre festivales de teatro clásico. Por esta razón, tras analizar la importancia de los eventos en la economía y sus efectos en el arte y la cultura, se estudian cuáles son los principales festivales de teatro en el panorama español y finalmente el caso concreto del Festival Internacional de Teatro Clásico de Almagro, en cual desde su última edición en 2017 ha ido aumentado tanto el número de entradas vendidas como su recaudación y la ocupación hotelera, sufriendo una caída en la edición del año 2013.

Recently the events have attracted interest in the scientific literature. Specifically, research on performing arts festivals is very scarce and even more so on classical theater festivals. For this reason, after analyzing the importance of events in the economy and its effects on art and culture, we study what are the main theater festivals in the Spanish scene and finally the concrete case of the International Classical Theatre Festival of Almagro, which since its last edition in 2017 has increased both the number of tickets sold and its collection and hotel occupancy, suffering a fall in the 2013 edition.
