  • The article looks at debates over the Florida Privacy of Firearms Owners Act of 2011, which bars doctors from asking patients about gun ownership. Supporters of the law say that it protects gun owners' rights under the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, while physician opponents of the law say it interferes with their First Amendment rights to free speech and their ability to care for their patients. Litigation surrounding the statute is also discussed.
