  • The article discusses the 70th anniversary of the deployment of U.S. atomic bombs in the Japanese cities Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Particular focus is given to accounts of the bombings by survivors Tamiko Nishimoto and Tamitsu Nakayama. Details on injuries and radiation sickness suffered by the survivors are presented. Nuclear weapons policies in the 21st century are also discussed.
