  • The article discusses a paper by scientist Brian Gibson and colleagues which appeared in the "Journal of Industrial Microbiology" and which reported the creation of hybrid lager yeast strains from the yeast species Saccharomyces eubayanus and Saccharomyces cerevisiae. According to Gibson, these hybrid strains will allow for greater flavor variety in lager beers.
