  • Resumen
    • The article discusses research published in the journal "Proceedings of the Royal Society B" which suggests that the Australian birds known as brown thornbills use their hawk alarm calls and mimic those of other species in order to discourage the predator bird known as the pied currawong from attacking brown thornbill nestlings. According to biologist Branislav Igic, the mimicked calls may help to persuade the currawongs that a hawk is really present.
