Resumen de Lingering Lyme.

Melinda Wenner Moyer

  • The article discusses post-treatment Lyme disease syndrome, in which Lyme disease patients who have been treated for the disease with antibiotics continue to exhibit symptoms such as fatigue and pain. According to scientist Kim Lewis, the syndrome may be caused when the Lyme bacterial spirochete Borrelia burgdorferi goes dormant during antibiotic treatment. It is suggested that treating Lyme disease patients with pulsed doses of antibiotics could prevent lasting infections.
