  • In this article the authors discuss the U.S. Endangered Species Act (ESA) and why it must be preserved. Topics include a brief overview of how the ESA saved the gray wolf from extinction, claims by U.S. politicians and opponents of the ESA that it is economically damaging and results in frivolous lawsuits aimed at blocking development, respectively, and ways to improve the ESA in regard to private landowners who choose to act as stewards.
