  • The scenes could be from a dystopian movie: thousands of desperate people, risking life and limb to cross a fortified border. But the footage of migrants in Calais France, determined to reach the UK through the Channel Tunnel is sadly all too real. Similar scenes are common in many other parts of the world, from the Mediterranean to the Americas to South-East Asia. Here, LePage examines the migrant crisis in Calais that hints at one impact of a warmer world.
