The article focuses on research published in the September 2016 issue of "Journal of Cell Biology" concerning the role of cell organelle lysosomes. It states cell biologist Roberto Zoncu said lysosomes are involved in decision making concerning the control of cellular survival and growth, and talks about autophagy in lysosomes which recycles sugars, proteins and amino acids and uses acids and enzymes to digest them.
