Resumen de Acerca de la distinción entre lenguas naturales y lenguas cultivadas: ¿una falacia lingüística?

  El objetivo de este artículo es estudiar la distinción entre lengua natural y lengua cultivada, dicotomía que entronca en aquella mucho más general que se suele establecer entre biología y cultura. La «evolución» desde la lengua natural a la cultivada, sin embargo, que se analiza también en relación con el tratado dantesco De vulgari eloquentia, abre una serie de cuestiones teóricas y descriptivas que apuntan a relativizar esta dicotomía. En última instancia, al hablar del ser humano, de la comunicación humana y de la actividad lingüística, no parece posible operar distinciones demasiado rígidas entre procesos naturales y procesos culturales, siendo esta oposición, además, muy poco fructífera a la hora de estudiar los procesos de diversificación y homogeneización lingüística.

  The goal of this paper is to study the distinction between natural language and cultivated language, which is part of the much more general dichotomy that is usually established between biology and culture. However, the «evolution» from natural to cultivated language, which we also analyze in relation to the Dante’s treatise De vulgari eloquentia, opens a series of theoretical and descriptive questions that contribute to relativize this dichotomy. Ultimately, when we speak about the human beings, the human communication and the linguistic activity, it does not seem possible to make too strong distinctions between «natural» and «cultural processes»; this opposition, moreover, little can contribute to the study of the processes of linguistic diversification and standardization.
